WAIVER OF LIABILITY & PHOTO RELEASE
(Independent Grappling)

1. ASSUMPTION OF RISK  

I understand that participating in martial‑arts training, classes, events, or related activities (“Activities”) with Independent Grappling involves risks, including accidents, injury, illness, or even death. I willingly assume all such risks, known and appreciated by me.

2. MEDICAL & FITNESS ACKNOWLEDGMENT  

I certify that I am physically fit and mentally capable of participating in the Activities. I agree to consult a physician prior to participation if I have any condition that could affect my ability to engage safely, and I will inform club staff of any relevant medical or psychological concerns.

3. RELEASE & HOLD HARMLESS  

To the fullest extent permitted by Texas law, I hereby release and waive any claim I may have against Independent Grappling, its officers, directors, members, volunteers, instructors, and agents for ordinary negligence arising out of my participation in the Activities. This release does not apply to claims arising from gross negligence, willful misconduct, or intentional acts.

4. PHOTO & MEDIA RELEASE  

I grant Independent Grappling and its assigns, licensees, and legal representatives the irrevocable right to use my name, image, voice, photograph, video, or likeness in all forms of media for any lawful purpose (including advertising and promotion), and I waive any right to inspect or approve finished materials.

5. GOVERNING LAW & VENUE  

This Waiver and Release shall be governed by the laws of the State of Texas. Venue for any dispute arising hereunder shall lie exclusively in the state or federal courts located in El Paso County, Texas.

6. SEVERABILITY  

If any provision of this Waiver and Release is held invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.

7. INTEGRATION  

This document constitutes the entire agreement between the parties concerning these matters and supersedes any prior agreements, understandings, or representations.
